Smaller than the description.

After my cat wore a traditional plastic healing cone that rubbed a hematoma on his ear, I swore I would find something that wasn’t so painful to protect him from licking a wound with stitches in the future. So far, this cone seems to be one that won’t result in an injury to an already injured person.The entire unit is a bright blue with a clear shield to allow the pet to see through it. Since it arrives in 2 pieces, you first need to blow it up with the valve on the bottom of the base. Then zip the clear part to the inflated piece. The zipper actually zipped up pretty easily. There is black Velcro at the neck to allow for adjustability. I had to tighten it for my extra large male cat. The online description says this is specifically for a medium size dog. I’m using it on a large cat. I would say it would also work for a small dog since it is fully adjustable (to a point obviously.)My favorite feature of the collar is that it is soft about the neck, lightweight, and the edges of the plastic are fabric-wrapped which should help prevent another hematoma. It can be deflated for storage and blows up just like a balloon.

We have a German Shepherd that we have been battling allergies with. One thing he has done well being left alone is lick a couple of hot spots. I have tried several cones, wraps etc to keep him from getting to those hot spots to allow the medication to work. This cone has worked wonders and has kept him from getting to those hot spots. Allowing the medication to do its job.

This collar was good unfortunately our dog neck area ( it wasn’t long enough) he was still able to lick the wound area. Our dog has a wide/long neck area. If it was longer this would served our purpose. Excellent product but wasn’t a good fit for our huge 108lb mixed breed.

Product was a great price but do not buy if you have a dog that sheds, the blue material is a polyester that the hair (I have a yellow lab) gets stuck on AND YOU CAN’T remove it. There is must space to adjust the size it was a little too close to being small for him.
